Australia-Wide Public Workshops - February & March 2010

The following was extracted from a regular newsletter I receive. --Deb Barron 03:40, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Following the reaction to our week of workshops in Melbourne last month, this is let you know about the public workshops on Lean Thinking topics we will be running in Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney in the first quarter of next year.

We will run a series of one-day public workshops in each city, covering the following:-

  • Introduction to Lean Thinking
  • Value Stream Improvement for Manufacturing (Canberra excepted)
  • Value Stream Improvement for Office and Service
  • Lean Problem Solving (Canberra excepted)
  • Lean Leadership

You or your colleagues will be able to register for one workshop for $800, or a multiple of workshops for $700 each. If more than one person from the same company attends, the price is $700 for each person per workshop.

The dates for each location are:-

  • Brisbane - Feb 1 to 5
  • Adelaide - Feb 8 to 12
  • Melbourne - Feb 22 to 26
  • Canberra - March 2 to 4
  • Perth - March 8 to 12
  • Sydney - March 22 to 26

You can find the precise date of each workshop and further details at http://www.lean.org.au/education. We limit the number of registrants to 10 for each workshop, so if you would like to attend, please book early to avoid disappointment.

Don't forget May 5th - 7th, 2010 - John Shook at 6th Summit

John Shook will be returning to Melbourne as keynote speaker and workshop facilitator focusing on the role of a Lean Manager at our 6th Summit (May 5 and 6) and the post-summit workshop (May 7). As many people know, John had immense experience working for Toyota Japan to transfer the Toyota way successfully to USA, is the author of several best-selling books on Lean topics, and is arguably the world’s greatest Lean sensei/teacher outside Toyota. A completely fresh set of companies will be presenting case studies at the Summit. As a new feature next year registrants will have the opportunity to attend a breakfast with John and other speakers at which there will be a question and answer session. We will also have space and time available for those participants who wish to exchange experiences by displaying story-boards describing their lean efforts/experiments/results. Attendance at the Summit will be limited to 240 registrants, and at the Workshop to 30 registrants. People are already starting to book for both events, so be sure to register your interest early. Registrations will be taken on a "first come first served" basis. Preliminary details are on our web site, and will be added to over the next few weeks.
