Christmas 2007 with Troy & Zara
Posted by webmaster 14 December 2007
2007’s CIN seminar series ended on a high note today when Humour Australia headlined a hilarious session on the importance of a good sense of humour and a positive approach to work and life.
With a potent mixture of serious messages and wall to wall humour, presenters Troy & Zara kept the group involved and laughing throughout. Santa made a, not unexpected appearance and distributed a mixture of good cheer, humour and gifts for the assembled CIN membership. Key messages from the session were:
- A lack of humour can make you sick !
- Laughter is strongly aligned to creativity, so lighten up and extend your horizons.
- Positivity and optimism are higher and more efficient emotional states than negativity and pessimism.
- We can learn to become more optimistic.
- Seriousness and Capability are NOT related.
- You cannot always change the world around you, so change your approach to it.
For an alternate take on this session, try Keith De La Rue’s excellent blog and not be be outdone, Justice’s Luke Naismith has also posted an insightful article on his KnowledgeFutures Blog.
Many thanks to Troy & Zara, and to Sherry Strong for her unique and tasty Christmas repast.

Great Session – try to find the humour in the challenges we face, makes a lot of sense to do so.

This has definately prompted some ideas on how to apply this stuff at work. This session was fantastic and really engaging. A great way to end a year of workshops and seminars. Thanks.

Yes, rather than focus on the problem, focus on those elements that you can control and what you can do. The session made me realise I have the power to make my life a happier one.

A great session to have put on, well worth the effort to go.

I’d love to see this in our workplace for our current staff. This was the best presentation I have attended.

Opened my eyes to a couple of home truths about myself and my own attitude to work and to those around me. Although I consider myself to be one of the most positive in my team, I can still see many areas where I can improve and in doing so help those around me.
Fun and informative – thanks and merry Christmas to all CIN people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting the past couple of years.

I won a book signed by the Chaser boys, grabbed a membership pin and stress ball, had a great feed, a real belly laugh, learned some interesting things and went back to work well and truly satisfied.
I hope we can do this all again next year !
